Mission

The Azrieli Fellows Program promotes excellence in research and graduate studies at accredited institutions of higher learning in Israel. This prestigious and competitive program, established in 2007, provides financial support to the best and brightest scholars from Israel and around the world. These scholars use their training to become leaders in their respective fields and raise Israel's profile internationally, maintaining strong academic and professional links between Israel and the rest of the world.

The Azrieli Fellows Program has expanded to provide generous financial support to postdoctoral candidates to develop their areas of research at an Israeli university. Beginning in the 2010/2011 academic year, the program will welcome the best and brightest postdoctoral scholars who wish to undertake postdoctoral research in Israel. Applicants must be Canadian citizens or have completed a doctorate at a Canadian university. The time candidates spend conducting research in Israel will provide them with valuable tools that will help them realize their professional goals through collaborative association with Israel’s world-class academic institutions and researchers.

It is the intention of the Azrieli Fellows Program to expand to welcome postdoctoral candidates from around the world to develop their areas of research in Israel. The program will eventually support a steady state of twelve Azrieli Fellows from Canada and other countries.
